The Energy Seminar is a project seminar that was founded by students as an alternative to traditional courses in the context of the anti-nuclear movement in the 1980s.
The projects, which are offered each semester by students from various disciplines for both university graduates and participants outside the university context, are organized by the students themselves and take a practical and theoretical approach to the intersection of (renewable) energy, the environment, and society. The project work takes place in small groups, which determine the content and methodological approach of their project themselves. This results in an experiential, low-hierarchy transfer of knowledge, which is implemented through critical research and sustainable action.
The Energy Seminar is now integrated into the teaching program at TU Berlin and is an interdisciplinary part of the “Heat Transfer and Conversion” department.
